In the world of motorized sports, there are certain names which truly stand head and shoulders above the rest. MotoGP is a sport that has come a long way so naturally there will be several names that can be claimed to be the very best.

Valentino Rossi

There is no doubt in our minds that this name is practically synonymous with the sport. This Italian rider has been a constant in the top billings and the very top of favorite lists the world over. He has the distinction of being the only rider to have won the championship in for different categories.

This speaks very highly of his prowess and his ability to adjust to the machines that he works with rather than forcing it the other way around.

Angel Nieto

As our distinction is of “all time”, it would be highly remiss if the great Angel Nieto was not a part of our top picks. This Spanish motorcycle giant has quite an amazing career. He was right there in the early eras of the sport—having started his career in the early sixties.

He went on to win “12 plus 1” world championships. The world suffered a great loss with his passing at the age of seventy.

Mike Hailwood

Much like the previous person on our top picks list, Mike Hailwood is known to be one of the greater giants from the younger years of motorized sport. We picked him not just because of the many trophies that he has under his belt.

We think he is one of the best simply because of his natural ability to make use of bikes of varying engine strengths.

There you have our top picks of MotoGP riders of all time! What names do you think should be part of this list?
